Obituary For Michael Lawrence Henry

Lawrence Michael Henry was born on May 25, 1948 to Lawrence and Leona
(Jones) Henry who both preceded him in death. He transitioned from life on
January 4, 2022.
Michael lived his life to the beat of his own drum. He loved life, traveling, his
family and friends. He had the biggest heart and gave it out to everyone around
him. He will be missed greatly by the many people he touched by simply being
the love and light that he was. He is leaving a hole within us that never will be
filled. He was an avid sports fan and had a special love for the New York Yankees
and the Houston Astros. If you called him while he was watching sports or playing
chess, you got a quick I’ll call you back. His past employers were Pipe Distributors,
Premier Printing and O’Reilly’s Auto Parts.
Michael leaves to cherish his precious memories daughter Michelle
Sonnier, son Michael Henry, Jr.; brothers, Joseph Powell (Pleasine);
Favia Henry (Brenda); Gerald Henry (Patricia); Wayne Henry, Curtis
Henry, Gordon Henry; Fred “Cuda” Henry, deceased, (Belinda); Lois
Henry, deceased; sisters, Melba Henry Carter; Sheri Henry Williams,
and Dorethea Henry, aunt, Mary Henry, and dearest friend Carolyn
Andrus; grandson, great grandkids, nieces, great nieces, nephews, great
nephews, and cousins.
Also cherishing his memories is his blended family, Victor, Victoria
(Kamari), Marshall (Jerrell and Jacob), Shanique (caretaker), Jeremiah

The family extends special thanks to his caretaker, Shanique Andrus

Michael, you will be greatly missed by your family and the many people you touched by simply being the love and light that you were. You lived your life to the beat of your own drum. I will also miss our early morning or evening chat with you telling me Shanique was very patient with you and taking good care of you. Love you my brother. Rest in peace. Your sis, Melba

Mike, you will be missed. I can't believe that you are really gone; I had just seen you! It will never be the same on our street; without you. No more watching Westerns and movies with the volume turned up sky high...no more sitting out on your porch enjoying the sunshine, and watching the birds and squirrels, while talking about life...no more watching sports - especially your Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros...no more hollering down the street to see if the mailman and garbage man had already passed by...no more calling to see if the storm had knocked your lights off too...no more eating your barbeque, and cakes. You had a generous heart, and you tried to help people out as much as possible...friends and family. You always lived your life with a positive attitude; you never let your health problems be a hindrance to you. Goodbye...until we meet again, my neighbor and my friend. My deepest heartfelt condolences go out to Shanique, and the rest of the family. May the Lord give all of you, the strength to withstand this sorrow. Val M.
